Don't forget the Tai Chi Garden dedication today at the Solvang Senior Center. Rotarians from the Los Olivos and Solvang clubs will be honored for their financial and labor contributions.

 

Inge-Lise's daughter Kristine updated us what has happened at Piyali School for girls in India. Founded by SYV Rotarian and PDG Deepa Willingham, Piyali School has grown from a room rented from another school to its own magnificent building.  Kristine served as director of the school for seven years through its growth.  She is now back in the Valley deciding what to do next.  

 

At a short Foundation board meeting last Thursday before the club meeting, Brendan Doherty was elected President and Susan Marek-Dullea volunteered to be Secretary.  Gabi Robbins will continue as Treasurer.  The board will meet on the third Monday of odd numbered months.  Club members are encouraged to join the foundation and participate in board meetings. To join, give Gabi your check for $20 payable to Los Olivos Rotary Club.

At the recent club board meeting, the budget for the coming year was discussed, but a final version will have to wait for the next meeting.  Board meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month in the parlor at St Mark's.
