Last week, Tom Fayram, Deputy Director of Public Works for Santa Barbara County, spoke about the water situation locally. Obviously, its much better now than it was a month ago when Cachuma Lake was about to dry up completely.
The February storms have Cachuma almost half full, but there is still a problem with ground water replenishment. The drought emergency is over, but we are still experiencing a significant drought. For more graphs and local water info see

President John reminds everyone that they are needed for the Jazz and Olive Festival, on 6/3. Leave and liberty are cancelled on that day.
Buellton Rotary has a small amount of district matching funds that they will use to partner with us on Ed's Shed #2. Perhaps they will partner with muscle as well.
Peter has been working with Buellton Senior Center on a new storage area for their thrift store. The plan is now for us (Peter) to facilitate the building of a tent structure on a concrete pad with SY Valley Foundation and Buellton Senior Center contributing the funds.
Sarah is looking for people to sponsor her for the Barbara Ireland Breast Cancer Walk this Saturday. Both checks and pledges are welcome.
Also on Saturday, Solvang Rotary is holding their big fund raiser for the year - dinner and a concert by Seth Shomes. Call Alan Jones for tickets at 688-5717. $75 each. It was sold out last year so don't expect tickets at the door.
On Wednesday next week, 3/15, we will be serving corned beef and cabbage at the Solvang Senior Center. This is a fund raiser for them and part of our community service outreach. Contact Susan if you would like to help and will not be at the meeting this week.
The Rotary Garage Sale that Steve is heading up has been postponed until October.
