Last week President John conducted a "club assembly", but rather than a normal assembly when the Avenue of Service chairs talked about their plans for the coming year, we talked about our financial condition. In the past, we have made about $4000 a year on barbecues for Day in the Country and Quick Draw. With Quick Draw now gone and lower attendance at Day in the Country, the club is not able to continue as it has with a balanced budget. President John asked for suggestions. Many were offered that included a new fund raising event (bike ride), raising the dues and reducing expenses (keep the $2 weekly charitable contribution or let the foundation make the RI contribution). The club board will be considering these suggestions.
LOCAL CONTROL (Continued)
Mark Herthel spoke to us last month about the need for local control of a sewer system for Los Olivos. LAFCO has voted to allow the creation of a new community service district for Los Olivos.
